Richard Galloway

With so many folk making incredible work these days, I get a bit blind with all that gets printed and painted so I have to rely sometimes on friends to highlight particularly good artists. One in particular is Richard Galloway. His intricate wood cut prints make impressive images and on closer inspection make for a rich visual experience. To see more of his work and to learn more about the artist visit his website HERE.

Adidas X Google Talking Shoe

As part of Art Copy Code, Google have joined forces with Adidas to create The Talking Shoe. Using an accelerometer, a gyroscope, Bluetooth and some other off the shelf technologies, the Talking Shoe translates the wearer’s movements into funny, motivating and timely commentary. Check out the video below.

VNA Issue 21

VNA issue 21 comes jam packed with alot of artists! Firstly, they have the lovely MISS VAN on the cover but also features from Rone, Johnny Crap, Inkie, Mad-C, Dal & Faith47, NoseGo, Joe Fenton, Alex Fakso, Wurstbande, Amanda Marie, Olek and Nicolas le Borgne. It was the perfect read during my recent paternity leave and so far, their best and most polished issue to date. I hope this mag continues well into the far future, so that my son will be able to read it as well!

Well done VNA- a cracking issue and well worth the money!! Go forth and buy...

Support Spraying Bricks

I just received a very nice email and thought it wise to share it with our readers:

"I have recently launched Spraying Bricks which is a free to access online series exploring street art and street art culture featuring established artist such as Smug and Ben Eine as well as new up-and-coming artists. The response from the already released episodes as been overwhelming. To continue the series I have just launched a Kickstarter page to help raise funds for the project. There are some really cool rewards available too including unique to kickstarter prints and the opportunity to have Smug or Jimmy C visit your place of work or home and create a one off mural.

It would mean the absolute world to me if you would be able to share and expose my project and a pledge I would be eternally grateful. Heres the link and hope you enjoy.

Bacon AT-AT and AK47

The 3-ft. tall Bacon AT-AT Walker is constructed using 40 lbs. of bacon stuck to a foam base. This porky monstrosity took 21 straight-hours of work to build and probably about a quarter of that to eat.

Japanese Typography Imagined In 3D

Japanese product designer Hideo Kanbara imagined what it would be like if Japanese hiragana characters had to be written in 3D. In his two examples, Kanbara rethinks the ways the characters would look like when viewed from different angles to show how much more complicated the language could be.
