London Vandal ThrowUp Special

The London Vandal recently did a nice post of ThrowUps/Dubs from around the globe...and before any of you start saying 'whatevs', have a think about it. If bubble letters are so 'easy' to do then how can you make it look better than others? It's definitely harder to come up with beautiful and orginal simple letterforms than coming up with a super over-styled colourful mash of colours and wild style....

Will I Go To Hell For This

This book came out over a year ago, but I've only just discovered it.

Will I Go To Hell For This is a Danish book from three dedicated authors about graffiti on the Copenhagen S-trains from 1984 to 2009. After more than two years of work, more than 75 interviews and after selecting over 600 photos, the final result is a book that gives an overview of 25 years of Copenhagen S-train graffiti and offers the reader a rare glimpse into the hidden world of the graffiti writers.

The hardcover book contains 264 high quality, full color pages filled with great photographs, informative text and exciting quotes. The subject of Copenhagen S-train graffiti is divided into 14 chapters, ranging from graffiti terms such as Panels, Window-downs, Wholecars, Bombing and Insides to more broad chapters like History, The Life, Yards, Tourists and Resistance.

Sardinia Graffiti

Sorry for the lack of posts recently, but I have been on a well-deserved summer vacation in Sardinia for 11 days, followed by a crazy 4 days in Bristol, for the See No Evil Streetart Festival. Mysterious Al asked me to go up with him and help him paint some Frankensteins! (More on this in a later post!) Anyway, the Sardinian graff pics pretty much all come from one abandoned highschool in a small town called Porto Torres. I hardly ventured into any towns/cities for my trip so this was the only bit of painting I saw.....

Major props to TARMA, who basically owns this place. I'd say that 75% of all burners there were done by him. King of the Highschool!
