Students and professionals in any creative field can benefit from a good typographic eye. The Anatomy of Type (published as The Geometry of Type in the UK) is all about looking more closely at letters. Through visual diagrams and practical descriptions, you’ll learn how to distinguish between related typefaces and see how the attributes of letterforms (such as contrast, detail, and proportion) affect the mood, readability, and use of each typeface. Nutritional value aside, the spreads full of big type are nice eye candy, too.
The 100 typefaces featured in the book are hand-picked by the author for their functionality and stylistic relevance in today’s design landscape. Along with several familiar faces (Garamond, Bodoni, Gill Sans, Helvetica), you’ll also discover contemporary fonts that are less common — and often more useful — than the overused classics.

Spiral Tower of Lincoln Books
Over 15,000 books have been written about Abraham Lincoln. This massive “Tower of Books” at the Ford’s Theatre Center for Education and Leadership is made from over 7,000 of them. However, the tower's books are actually replicas made of pieces of bent aluminum, with the covers of the real books printed on them.

Will I Go To Hell For This
This book came out over a year ago, but I've only just discovered it.
Will I Go To Hell For This is a Danish book from three dedicated authors about graffiti on the Copenhagen S-trains from 1984 to 2009. After more than two years of work, more than 75 interviews and after selecting over 600 photos, the final result is a book that gives an overview of 25 years of Copenhagen S-train graffiti and offers the reader a rare glimpse into the hidden world of the graffiti writers.
The hardcover book contains 264 high quality, full color pages filled with great photographs, informative text and exciting quotes. The subject of Copenhagen S-train graffiti is divided into 14 chapters, ranging from graffiti terms such as Panels, Window-downs, Wholecars, Bombing and Insides to more broad chapters like History, The Life, Yards, Tourists and Resistance.

All You Need To Know About Graffiti Is In This Book
A project by Benoit Olive: "Graffiti is often misunderstood, and it is difficult for a graffiti writer to explain what he feels about it. I have been asked by a book publisher to write few pages to explain to teenagers how to practice graffiti. After hours and hours I came to the conclusion there was nothing to teach about it except providing the tool to do it. The new generation needs to discover it by practising it instead of reading lessons. Rather than a long sterile speech debating on the good or bad virtues I created my own book to share my point of view through a conceptual message."

Arabic Graffiti Book
"A recently published book titled Arabic Graffiti by From Here to Fame Publishing documents street art from “freight trucks of Lebanon, along village alleyways in Bahrain, on the bullet-riddled walls of Palestine, or adorning the walls of Western metropolises and designer bags.” It showcases a spread of Arabic calligraphy from the Middle East to urban art niches in Iran, France, the UK, Germany, and Canada."

Art Shows in London April 28th Onwards
Alex Fakso's 'Fast Or Die' Book Launch
Alex Fakso became involved with photography since the early 90s when he acquired a camera to capture his own pieces on trains. His new book, 'Fast Or Die', documents life on the subways with imagery taken from across the globe, from the UK to the US, and as far as Russia and Japan.
This time Fakso expands his view beyond graffiti and shows images of ordinary people, common people plunged into the underground chaos: portraits of people running, taking the subway, sleeping on docks, sneaking into tunnels.
Friends from childhood and sharing the same passion for street art and urban culture, Alex Fakso and 55DSL creative director, Andrea Rosso have been brought together again with this new project. To support the project 55DSL have created six tees with pics and graphics taken from the book. Fast or Die will be available together with tees in selected 55DSL stores worldwide.
55DSL are launching the t-shirts and book at an exhibition of Alex's images at 55DSL's Studio55 (10a Newburgh St, London) in London on April 28th.

The night will see Kids Of Grime aka photographer Verena Stefanie's first solo exhibition and equally important the first ever Grime photography exhibition.
Verena's documentary of grime has evolved into a project that involves all artists-emcees, moments, radio sets, studio sessions, something which goes behind the scenes and gives an insight into it, something to show in the future what was going in the present time. Although she has photographed numerous big names, Skepta, P Money, Newham Generals etc. she endeavours to show no partiality towards anyone, instead she supports talent over hype.

Alex Fakso New Book Fast or Die
"Fast or Die" - New Book Release
"Fast or Die is Alex Fakso’s latest photographic project, which came to life after four years of travelling around the world, from London to the US, and as far as Russia and Japan. Metropolitan narratives are immortalized in 60 shots: portraits of people running, taking the subway, sleeping on docks, sneaking into tunnels. Fakso follows his subjects taking part in the action, moving along with them, following them until he manages to document instants and moments of their days, thus creating snapshots that contain stories, details and sensations. This time Fakso expands his view beyond graffiti and tracks a robust framework of the metropolitan scenario embracing the people who inhabit it. Here are Images of ordinary people, common people plunged into the underground chaos; Fast or Die is a powerful photo strip describing the world through the subways. A reportage of the contemporary underground...."
