Shadows by Joe Pease
The predatory Bird presents this fantastic short by Joe Pease presenting an entirely unique way of seeing skateboarding. The title supposedly is inspired by this essay on Peter Pan. I'm sure the big wigs and fat cats will get their greasy mits all over this concept before too long and rape it of all it's worth. Remember Joe did it first!

UKAdapta July 09 Update
Hixsept was born in 1999 from a fusion of the ideas of two french : Aurelien Arbet and Jeremie Egry. Forerunners of the process consisting of adapting graffiti related items to clothes, they constantly try to mix art, graphic design and clothing. The brand itself always willing to stay on the side. One course of action: create and show.Click HERE to read article
First off it’s their name that opened up my curiosity, then naturally as a Japanese, I could never possibly miss The Japanese Popstars until UK Adapta grabbed a chance to find out what they really were. The impact of their name is already massive enough, but their sound is even more hugely aggressive that I thought I would be blown away by the overwhelming storm in the sardine-packed sweaty Fabric Room1!Click HERE to read article

UK Adapta caught up with one of the coolest acts from the NYC underground scene, Apes & Androids who were finally hitting their first ever UK tour. We were totally overwhelmed by their glamourous stage show. Over the top live show? Nah, it’s never too much. Thrilling synth-rock, flamboyant fashion, sparkling make-up and confetti working just right to bring everything you would want from an exciting night like this.Click HERE to read article

Shantell Martin To Headline Digital Graffiti Event
Old friend, Shantell Martin is to headline the Digital Graffiti Festival on June 6th, Alys Beach Florida. Last year, DJ Mag named Shantell as one of the Top 10 VJ's in the world and we were all so proud! What's cool about her style of VJ-ing is that she draws live onto a tablet during a musicians performance so she doesn't have to rely on pre-made visuals.
Last year’s festival attracted digital artists, filmmakers, musicians, interactive designers, photographers, VJs, producers, celebrities, agency executives and fans of art, technology and architecture.
Over $6,500 in prizes were awarded to artists, with digital submissions being received from as far away as Israel, Austria, Canada, Germany, London, India, France, Italy and China.
The 2009 Digital Graffiti festival will be held in Alys Beach, Florida on Saturday, June 6. For more information, please email events@alysbeach.com

Christian Lorenz Scheurer

This guy has an incredible resume. He has worked as a visual consultant and concept artist for feature films such as The Golden Compass, Superman Returns, Animatrix, Final Fantasy (Spirits Within), Titanic and The Fifth Element! Each concept piece he comes up with is filled with detailed sections that would have taken hours and hours of hard graft, both with a pencil and tablet.

He currently has a show at the Gnomon Gallery in CA, USA which ends January 9th...

autoKratz have swiftly established a reputation for releasing distinctly different electronic music with depth and have consistently created records which harbour infectious bass hooks, addictive vocals and compulsive beats & beeps, a mix that has come to epitomize the bands sound. 2008 has seen them responsible for some of the freshest and most exciting records around, as they have developed into an act heralded by IDJ as ''devastating. I can see these two going all the way.''

Forty-five year old Gustavo Lins studied to be an architect in his native Brazil. He would be designing dwellings today if his professor hadn't asked him to reconsider which materials he'd rather be working with - glass and steel or linen and silk? Fashioned from the most exclusive fabrics - cashmere, silk jersey, cool wool, wool crepe and softest lambskin - Gustavo Lins' clothes are quietly luxurious.

Cyclops is an artist whose works can be found predominantly on the street as well as finding its rightful place in galleries. Living in Manchester, then Bristol and now London, it is hard not to notice his iconic work. He plays a major part in BC and is well-known for his skull character. I have wanted to interview him for ages, but unfortunately, he is in Thailand at the moment. However, he was kind enough to do one over the internet for us whilst enjoying East Asia's delights.

Tokyoplastic are really taking their animation skills further now and are creating longer films. This video, called "Electric Koi" comes in at 8 minutes long and is a good'un. The synopsis: One day, Satsuma, a little girl that lives on an apparently desert island, discovers she's not alone anymore. The new island's resident carries a secret with him that, in the end, will force Satsuma to chose between loyalty and betrayal. Directed by Sam Lanyon-Jones & Andy Cope, also known as Tokyoplastic
