DJ Krush Gig Competition

ESPVisuals have teamed up with Soundcrash once again, for a competition to give away 2 FREE TICKETS to go see DJ KRUSH & Many More Artists on the 28th January @ HMV Forum.

All you have to do is email us with an answer to the simple question;

"How long will DJ Krush's set be?"

 Please mail your answer to selphespcrew [at] g mail . com The deadline is January 25th so have a long hard think about the achingly obvious answer!....

 The undisputed Godfather of the electronic beats scene, DJ Krush, celebrates 20 years since his first ever live gig with a very special 3 hour set sure to delight his legion of fans!

DJ Krush’s importance as a music producer cannot be underestimated and without him some of the biggest artists Soundcrash puts on would simply not exist, at least in their present form. But despite his enormous influence, DJ Krush has always been a live performer at heart, honing his skills to perfection throughout the years and now capable of building layer after layer after layer of drum samples to the point where his audience have no choice but to completely lose it and immerse themselves fully in the wonderful, dark, and downright genius world of DJ Krush.

Main support on the night comes from a legend in his own right making a very rare appearance to pay respect to the sensei. Pioneers in the art of remixing, founding fathers of Ninja Tune Records, as well as the creative force behind what is regarded by many as the best mix ever recorded in “Journeys By DJ”, Coldcut’s list of accolades goes well beyond what most artists in the filed today can only dream of. Now dj’ing only when the occasion merits it (Jon More’s last London appearance was at the Ninja XX bash at Ewer Street Car Park) tonight he will play a very special set commemorating 20 years of Dj Krush.

Line-up: DJ Krush (3 hour 20th anniversary set – live)
Coldcut’s Jon More (dj set)
Anchorsong (live)
Kidkanevil (live)
plus more tbc

'In Stock' & 'The Stockwell Winter Games' 4th Dec

'In Stock' & 'The Stockwell Winter Games' will be taking place on Sunday the 4th December starting at 1pm at Stockwell Bowels South London. Since the success of 'Out Of Stock', we have been busy organizing an event to better the last with the addition of the 'Stockwell Winter Games'. This new addition will be a test of nerve and character of those locals hardened enough to enter the competition. The Winter games will feature both BMX riders and Skateboarders (but no Scooterers or Roller Bladers I'm afraid) to include the majority of those that frequent the park. Events featured will include:

- The Hi-Jump: Competitors will face our height bar out of the sugar bowel. Last man standing wins!
- The Long Jump: Longest Ollie / Bunny Hop in 3 attempts wins!
- Fastest Lap: 3 attempts to set the fastest time round the set line.
- *ALL NEW* Timed run: 3 minute run around the park to show us what you got. Judges will rate your performance on skill / number of tricks / creativity.
- Best trick of the day: Best trick of the day in any event wins!
(Prizes supplied by DCshoecousa)
Any amateur skateboarder can enter so get down early to grab your place in the line up.

The day will continue on with 'In Stock' exhibition at The Queens Head Pub. This will start at 5pm there with the premiere of new DC flow rider Josh Jennings video edit (Nik Jones) and a mixture of old and new artwork, photography and film from the Stockwell locals. There will also be local bands and DJ's to entertain, many of whom you'll have seen down at the park....if you're local that is!

All you have to do is email us with an answer to the simple question;

"Where is this event happening?"

DJ Krush & Prefuse 73 Competition Reminder

ESPVisuals have teamed up with Soundcrash once again, for a competition to give away 2 FREE TICKETS to go see DJ KRUSH & PREFUSE73 & Many More Artists on the 16th October @ Koko's. All you have to do is email us with an answer to the simple question;

"What is the date this event is happening?"

Please mail your answer to selphespcrew [at] g mail . com The deadline is Thursday October 14th so have a long hard think about the achingly obvious answer!....

Dj Krush is the Sensei of Hip Hop. DJ Krush is arguably the most gifted producer & DJ in the world with a superb sense in mixing and composing who’s been lauded for years by both his domestic and the international audience and is probably the most revered and renowned Japanese musician alive. A former yakuza, his life is almost as incredible as his music, an unclassifiable blend of styles that can only be appropriately described as the Krush sound.

Prefuse 73 is the alias of Guillermo Scott Herren, an experimental hip-hop producer whose material often features MCs buried in the mix to become more a part of the sonic texture than a focal point. A very elusive performer, this is a rare chance to catch Prefuse 73 in the flesh.Tonight he will be playing an exclusive Laptop set on the Soundcrash stage.

Stuart McCallum’s use of loops and effects combined with his extensive harmonic knowledge make him on of the most in demand guitarists in the scene today. Best known as the guitarist of The Cinematic Orchestra, Stuart has also an extensive solo career, and tonight he brings to the plate his latest musical project, simply called “Stuart McCallum”. Joined by very special guests, Stuart McCallum takes the Cinematic Orceshtra sound into electronic territory on the hallowed stage of Camden’s Koko.

Masaaki Yoshida, better known as Anchorsong to you and I, is a proponent of some of the lovliest electronic soundscapes you can find, anywhere. Sometimes alone with his drum-machine and keyboard, at others accompanied by a glamorous string-quartet, always a phonic treat - here’s yet one more rising star brought by Soundcrash to you for your discerning delectation.

P45 is a Soundcrash resident dj for a reason: he’s good. With a vast knowledge of leftfield electronic music his sets are tailored for every occasion with the artistry and savvy of a true disc jockey. With P45 we always know we are in safe hands.
