R.I.P. Taku Sato aka Professor Robo
After checking out the Ex-Gokin post in more detail on Toybot's blog, I found out that the designer of this and many other incredible toy robots in the Getter series had passed away suddenly last August. Taku "Professor Robo" Sato & Fewture have produced some of the best die-cast heavy-ass robots there are in existence.
A serious RIP for the brains behind one of the most inspirational mecha designers ever.
You can find a great interview with him HERE.
ExGokin Boss Borot Is Amazing
I'm going to let the pictures do the talking. Heavy, die-cast metal robots that cost a fortune but are worth every penny. Fewture's Ex-Gokin Boss Borot comes with the most insane detailing ever. Check the three pilots out in the following pics! Amazing!!!!!
These images came from the beautiful collection over at the Toybot Studios team HQ.

JR Hits Up Truman Brewery
Streetartist/photographer JR gets a nice spot at the Truman Brewery in East London to show his work. It's actually an enormous piece and needs to be seen in flesh to realise the sheer scale of his paste-ups.

DFace gets defaced
I know this old news for all you seasoned Brit bloggers/readers but I am suffering from no internet connection at the mo! Poor D*Face had his website hacked into a couple weeks ago by a couple of "ironic" streetartists/webheads known as Dicky & Smif.
Poor D*Face! Oh well, I guess all publicity is good publicity.......

Tate Modern Afterparty
Was invited on Friday afternoon by Mysterious Al to come and paint with him for the Tate Modern's "StreetArt" Afterparty in East London. Apparently, there was to be a party to get all the artists together for the Saturday and so they needed heads to paint it up a bit the day before.
As you will see, the Brits present (me & Al) at the gig painted some pretty dark shit. (The weather in the UK perhaps?) compared to all the other colorful works around us.
As we had to leave early, i didn't have a chance to get pictures of all the finished pieces but I imagine, it all looked pretty good for the Saturday.
Thanks again Al!
Chelsea Flower Show X Childrens Society
Woke up last weekend to find some people outside my flat arranging real flowers whilst a group of 7-8 papparazzi were milling about. The weirdest thing was, they all looked so guilty as if they'd just done something awful.
"Ermm, excuse us, do you mind us doing this to the billboard?" one guy asked me....
"It's not my billboard, do anything you want to it...by the way, the flowers look great! How long will it be there for?" I asked
"Oh, we're gonna take it down straight away after the shoot, cos it's illegal"
I burst into laughter....
I thought it was the best bit of billboard liberation I had seen in ages and they were worried that they'd get in trouble for it. I mean, pretty much 80% of all poster ads are illegally put up but are then tolerated as it has been going on for approx. 100 years in London.
Their loss. The roses looked great in a vase in our flat later that day. So cheers Children's Society for brightening up my tiny road for about 2 hours....Next time, just leave it there cos I dont wanna see Usher everytime I come out my front door.
British Telecom is Satan
I'm sorry for the lack of posts recently but I have been done up the bum by BT. I have been witing for the stunts with a C to set up my new landline and internet connection for almost 6 weeks now. I even had to have the "Are you a robot or human? " question with the Customer Service team. Apparently, computers rule their lives and they cannot go against it. Sounds like a bit of Space Odyssey 2008 to me. HAL has returned to fuck with all us puny humans' lives.
FUCK BT and all that they stand for............
Get raedy for a barrage of posts after the 29th MAy....I've been gagging.

DORITOS AD COMPETITION UK: Get voting Now!
On my return from a large Sunday Roast with my Fiancee and some friends in Brighton yesterday, I came across the Doritos Ad Competition website. Doritos have given the UK public the chance to make their own 29 second Doritos Ad...and if yours wins the competition it will be put on TV and you could scoop £20k..yup..20 large ones!!!!! As we are getting married in September we thought..this could be handy!!!! SO....
We checked out the rules and regs and realised that all videos had to be uploaded that Night(sunday)to the Doritos website before 23.59. The time was 22.00 and we thought what the hell...so we unpacked our camera and tripod, bought a few bags of Doritos and shot this as quickly as possible so we could edit it and upload it in time. We did..just..with 7 minutes to spare.
Given the crazy short time frame we were pretty happy with our effort. Click on the link to give it a vote, it's just a bit of fun...and check out the site cos there are some truly clever ads.

The Beauty of Power Sprayers
I met up with ARE from the DIELOOTED Crew & MEKA last weekend for an extremely fun evening in East London. ARE had brought his Power Sprayer and filled it with some white emulsion. It was my first time to try out large-scale tags and I tell you now, it did not disappoint! I am gonna have to get one of these for myself.....The empowerment you get from doing tags on that scale was great!
I apologise for the quality of the photos, they were all taken on my shitty mobile phone camera.

Word To Mother Show
‘Til The Hot Runs Cold…’ opening at the StolenSpace Gallery on the 22nd May will showcase new works by the artist Word To Mother. This much anticipated solo show, his second at StolenSpace, will feature paintings in spraypaint and acrylic on wood, canvas, found objects and installation pieces. This show will also see the release of 2 new screen prints hand pulled by the artist.
Definitely an artist to look out for in the future. If you remember, I asked Word To Mother to paint Cafe 1001 a couple months ago as I love his stuff.
