Zhang Peng Photography

Zhang Peng is a creative from China who has dabbled in photography, canvas and chinese painting. I personally like his photography alot, where he deforms little children's eyes to turn them into tiny & vulnerable adults. A little freaky, but captivating stuff....

Thanks to my neighbour Tiago, for giving me the heads up on so many great artists recently!

I need to know. Why are all these artists so fucking focused on blood and guts? WTF? I am not complaining on the basis of taste. I am complaining on the basis of desensitization. It`s like who cares anymore. Exploding guts. Blood everywhere. Is it even symbolic anymore? Rant over. Just attribute this opinion to lack of knowledge and perception. But it's not like I don't try. I am just not moved by it. It's kinda like explosions in movies anymore. Ho hum. It's meaningless. Look at some pictures from Haiti. There is real pain. WTF.

Surprising how much Leslie Cheung captured the same quality in his Concubine Yu. There was something very childlike about the character of Cheng Diyi in the film Farewell, My Concubine.
